Have you tried folding your Ang Tanjayanon lengthwise? Try it. It works well in swatting flies and cockroaches, and tossing it in the trash - which, by the way, is where your newsletter should be. . . Members of your Tanjay Association, USA call themselves Tanjayanon, USA. You are right, because it means ang mga Tanjayanon, Under Sa Asawa. Do you welcome this kind of comments?

Thanks for remembering me in your earlier issue of the Ang Tanjayanon. It’s great to be remembered sometimes. Warmest congratulations to the Staff. Special congratulations to the writer who can evoke laughter, tears of joy, anytime, anywhere through his collections of anecdotes, jokes, and Tanjay witticisms. I am very proud of you, my former students. Someday . . . , when I shall be made to account for my good deeds in this world, I shall proudly claim you as among them . .

(Ma’am, it is actually the Tanjayanons themselves that make this newsletter “hafarifi”. Notice that contributions are now coming from Tanjayanons all around the US, Canada, and even from Dauin halfway around the world. To quote the late Mr Jose Samson “Tanjayanons are a unique people. They love and are proud of their heritage. They laugh at themselves and at their brand of jokes, and take time to share them with each other. This is a mark of a blessed people.”)

It was a pleasure and a privilege to share with you the joys of Christmas in a spirit uniquely Tanjayanon. There it was, the inimitable lilt of Tanjay laughter, the unquenchable spice of Tanjay wit and humor, the compelling energy to dance and sing with gusto and abandon, but above all, the capacity to love and share with a charisma found only in the care of the Tanjaynon heart! I sensed it all, I felt all these as I sang and danced and dined with you . . . Please give me the chance to express my gratitude during your Balik-Tanjay in July, 97 as I invite you to picnic at the Tanjay Fishpond. Regarding the last issue of the Tanjayanon, I wonder if the inclusion of smut was all that necessary. When we put out a newsletter for general reading as I think (I may be wrong here) the Tanjayanon newsletter is designed to be, I thought we should put more care into the selection of articles to print. By adding your lengthy graphic adult humor to your usually upbeat, fun to read witty jokes, you may have forgotten the children and perhaps some adults whose respective innocence and sensibilities we need to consider. Beyond taste, we should also think responsibility.

Don’t like being Mother Superior but so be it.
